About me

I'm a lactose intolerant Computing student living in Edinburgh (immigrant). Also running tentacles from outer space. The most active part of this website is my blag, where I write about my life and little tips for others.

Hobbies and stuff

Hobbies

Reading random Wikipedia articles instead of sleep.

Games

I like to solve Sudoku.

Tabletop games

I like playing Go in my free time, even though I am not good at it. I also like to play tabletop games with my friends. My family and I usually play Cluedo (or Pandemic) when I visit, on the other hand with my friends we most often play Exploding Kittens. My partner beats me at Scrabble (I think I've won just once so far (January 2024)).

Some other games I've enjoyed: Uno (of course), Give Me the Brain, Really Loud Librarians, Sriracha the Game, Fluxx (planning to get the Firefly version), Munchkin (and its many versions), Mysterium, Kill Doctor Lucky, and Marrying Mr. Darcy. And others.

Video games

Computer

I like playing RPG games, I played Baldur's Gate (1 and 2) a lot as a kid. From MMORPG, I enjoyed playing Ragnarok Online and wish I could make it run on Linux to play it again. Another MMORPG where you could have met me is Fiesta Online. I also liked playing Starcraft: Brood War as a child, but I wasn't ver good at it.

Nintendo Switch

I like playing Mario games (currently (January 2024) playing Super Mario Bros. Wonder with my partner when we have time), getting owned in Mario Kart by all my friends. I also find Wario games perfect when your friends are over. From time to time I play Splatoon 3, not great at it, but I do better than when playing Mario Kart.

Books

I usually read fantasy and sci-fi. My favourite book is still The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien. I also like Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, and Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy book series. As a child, I also enjoyed the first three (I only read the first three) books in Earthsea series by Ursula K. Le Guin. I might read the rest in the future.

Of course, I read other genres, too. Currently (January 2024) I'm reading The Shining by Stephen King. I also enjoy Poirot and Miss Marple books by Agatha Christie, and Sherlock Holmes stories by Arthur Conan Doyle. And others.

TV series and Films

Fantasy and sci-fi are also my favourite genres visual media. Again, I also watch other things. One thing I like to do is buying my favourite TV series and films on DVD, so I can watch them whenever I want instead of hoping it's on streaming services. I still use Netflix, Disney+, and iQIYI though.

TV series

Doctor Who, Star Trek, and Stargate are three franchises I loved as a child (and still do). Besides those, I enjoy BBC's Pride and Prejudice, 1984 Sherlock Holmes by Granada, Daria, Firefly, Farscape, Cowboy Bebop (check the favicon of this website), Serial Experiments Lain, Bob's burgers, Futurama, Amphibia, The Owl House, Ducktales (both original and the 2017 reboot; seriously if you haven't seen the reboot yet, give it a try), Monty Python's Flying Circus, Fawlty Towers, Blackadder, Gilmore girls, Only Murders in the Building, and Murder, She Wrote. I find The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel simply amazing and recommend giving it a try. And others.

Films

Star Wars, although I am a bit behind (I've only seen the first 7 films + Rogue One). I like Marvel films, Pink Panther film series (1963), The Matrix (haven't seen the fourth film yet, though), Monty Python films, Mean Girls, and Rocky Horror Picture Show. And, of course, Disney films (there's a few I've missed in recent years, but planning to watch them, too). And others.

Theatre

Musicals

This is not going to be an exhaustive list, either. Partly, because many musicals I've seen were film versions (and so they should be above in Films section - might add them eventually). Musicals I've seen in theatre and liked: Rocky Horror, Little Shop of Horrors (I've seen it as a film before, but recently (January 2024) I've seen a student production), Wicked, and Fiddler on the Roof.
